Proud Home of the International Brotherhood of Magicians Lee-Snavely Ring 199 and The Society of American Magicians Assembly #199
After Friday's announcement about our unexpected move from Meredith, we are thrilled to let you know that tomorrow's RMC meeting will take place at The Raleigh Times in downtown Raleigh. (Learn more about The Raleigh Times HERE!)
And this isn't just a temporary emergency location. The Raleigh Times is part of Empire Eats, a restaurant and events collective built on the cornerstone of community, and we are exploring the possibility of making this the new home of RMC.
Tomorrow will be a bit of a trial run for both RMC and Raleigh Times. If it works well for everyone, this could become our regular meeting location! Empire Eats has already been wonderful to work with, we share the same values, and we're excited about the possibilities for what this partnership could become.
But for now, here's what you need to know:
RMC TOMORROW NIGHT
Tuesday, October 6
7:00–9:00 PM
The Raleigh Times
14 E Hargett St.
Raleigh, NC 27601
PARKING
Downtown parking was one of our biggest concerns, but there are actually lots of nearby options (did you catch what I did there? Lots... like... parking lots....sigh), including several parking decks that offer free parking after 6:00 PM.
The Raleigh Times recommends:
Moore Square Parking Deck
223 S. Wilmington Street
It's directly across the street and free after 6:00 PM.
Empire Eats has also provided a map showing the nearby parking options, which we've included below.
CAN'T MAKE IT IN PERSON?
We'll still have Zoom!
If you can't join us in person, we'd love for you to join us online, especially for the first 15 minutes or so. We have some important RMC business to take care of, including voting on our Constitution and Bylaws, and your participation will help us reach quorum.
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/
Meeting ID: 822 2503 1421
Passcode: RMC199ZOOM
And if you're able to join us in person, we're hoping you'll stick around after the meeting!
Raleigh Times is happy to have us stay and jam after our official meeting ends at 9:00 PM, so we're no longer going to have to rush across the street hoping to make it before the kitchen closes.
We can hang out, talk magic, and enjoy the space together until closing at 11:00 PM.
We're really excited to see everyone tomorrow. And even more excited to see what this next chapter of RMC looks like.
Thank you all for being part of this club.
We're already finding that when one door closes, another one opens. And this one seems pretty magical.
With much magic,
SarahElla Harlan
President, Raleigh Magic Club
