48th Annual Raleigh Magic Club Auction

Join us August 16 to buy and sell some great magic! We will be in the Carswell Concert Hall, located at Wainwright Music Building, 3800 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC. This is the same building as our general meetings.

🍕 Dinner & Refreshments

Our auction often runs into dinner time, so pizza and salad will be available for purchase. Depending on the length of the auction, we will either take a dinner break partway through or have dinner at the conclusion of the auction.

What to Know if You are Selling

  • ✓ Arrive early as check-in can bottle-neck.
  • ✓ Upon check-in you will be given a number (both your Buyer and Seller Number) along with labels.
  • ✓ Label each item with your number, value, and starting bid amount. Items with no starting bid indicated will be excluded from auction.
  • ✓ You will be assigned a table to display your items. It is the responsibility of each seller to determine the starting bid amount.
  • ✓ Minimum starting bid on all items is $10.00. Bundle lesser-valued items into bundles starting at $10.00 or more, or sell them at the Direct Sale Table.
  • ✓ Remain with your table during viewing to demonstrate items and answer questions.

Direct Sale Table

Available for items valued at or under $20.00. These items are not auctioned and sell at the price marked. Mark each with your Seller Number and Price.

  • ▸ Purchasable only before the auction starts, during breaks, and at the end.
  • ▸ The table is covered and off limits once the auction begins or restarts.
  • ▸ All Direct Sales must go through the RMC Treasurer, never directly between Buyer and Seller.

To Enhance Your Item's Value:

  • ▸ Seller Lot Number plainly marked (stickers provided on arrival)
  • ▸ Full Effect Description and Manufacturer/Author
  • ▸ Catalog description printed and attached
  • ▸ Original and/or Current Retail Value (if known)
  • ▸ Minimum Acceptable Bid

What to Know if You are Buying

  • ✓ Examine all items before bidding starts! Viewing opens 1 hour prior to Auction Kick-off.
  • ✓ You'll receive a unique bidder number at check-in. Arrive early to check in before Viewing opens.
  • ✓ Cash is preferred. We accept personal checks and credit/debit cards.
  • ✓ We cannot accept second-party checks or counter checks.
  • ✓ A $35.00 service charge applies to any check returned unpaid. Buyers paying by check accept responsibility for court costs and legal fees to collect on a returned check.

Important Rules for Everyone

⚠️ All Sales Final

All bids are binding! All sales are final! All items sold as-is! Disagreements are resolved between Buyer and Seller after the auction concludes.

🎙️ Auctioneer Authority

The order and inclusion of items is at the Auctioneer's discretion. Their decision on competing and winning bids is full and final.

💰 15% Commission

The RMC Treasury retains a 15% commission on all auction and direct sales. No fee is collected for unsold items.

🚫 No Private Sales

No private sales at auction tables. All sales on the premises must be processed through the RMC Treasury.

📦 Item Ownership

Items become property of the auction once displayed on a seller's table, and revert to the Buyer or Seller upon exiting the premises.

📝 Account Settlement

Buyers and Sellers open an account at the start. Accounts settle during breaks and at the end, with payment in full required at close. Receipts provided.
